Medical and Dental Clinic
The free One Stop Clinic is an exciting new program offered by Turning Points. Opening its doors in August 2009, the clinic has already provided services and supplies valued at nearly $5,000,000. This program experiences very high demand for medical and dental services due to the limited availability of low to no-cost services for men, women and children already homeless or at risk of being homeless in the Manatee County area.
Medical services are provided by full-time staff, a partnership with Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM), and through a partnership with Manatee Memorial Hospital. With appropriate funding, we are hoping to expand our facilities to serve the growing demand for this service. Dental services are provided by qualified practitioners, both paid and volunteer, on a daily basis. I Individuals must meet eligibility requirements in order to receive dental services, and our experience has shown many of our clients are getting oral health care for the first time.
