Proper medical & dental care is important, even when you do not have insurance.
The Turning Points Medical Clinic provides free primary and specialty services to uninsured Manatee County residents.
Primary and specialty services are provided by three staff nurse practitioners plus several volunteer physicians, nurses, and other medical providers. The clinic also has onsite blood testing and treatments for Hep-C, high cholesterol and diabetes.
Also, supervising physicians from Lake Erie College of Medicine (LECOM) work with fourth year medical students to provide you with high quality medical primary care at our clinic.
To be eligible for services you must meet income and residency guidelines. To schedule an appointment with the medical clinic, please call the number above.

Prescription Health
Pharmaceutical medications and medical equipment can be costly with or without insurance.
The Turning Points Health Center connects patients to medications and medical equipment at no or reduced cost. We serve as advocates to find solutions to pharmaceutical and medical needs.

Dental Care

Over the weekend you develop a terrible toothache. Your options for care are limited, since you have no dental insurance of any kind and you have limited income. Where to turn? Up until the opening of our Dental Clinic in the fall of 2009, patients would go to an emergency room – where they might receive a prescription for a pain medication or be directed to take aspirin and try to find someone to see them the next week.
Patients also may be eligible for Project Smile – Funded in part by the Manatee County Community Development Block Grant program.
Now patients can see a dentist at the Turning Points Dental Clinic for most of their dental care needs, if they meet eligibility guidelines of residency and income. Our Dental Clinic has volunteer dentists, hygienists, and assistants working every weekday to meet the critical need of access to dental care.

We continue to recruit dental professionals who are interested in giving back to our community by using their specific skills to treat people in need. We have been fortunate to be awarded grants from the Blue Cross Blue Shield Foundation of Florida to employ 4 dentists in order to expand our dental services to 5 days a week for the year.
To make an appointment for dental care you will need to call the number above, and speak with a patient care coordinator. Although we do our best to reserve time for emergency walk in clients each day, this may not always be possible, so it is best to call and speak with a patient care coordinator if you need to be seen.
